We weren't expecting to learn anything new about the Phone (1) until July, but Nothing just revealed the back of its new smartphone.
In a tweet(Opens in a new window), company founder Carl Pei said, "leaks are harder to contain nowadays," suggesting that if Nothing hadn't released the image someone else would.
The smartphone is described as "Bold. Warm. Full of soul," with the photo revealing a parrot sitting on top of a pure white handset attempting to eat one of the buttons. Nothing's website(Opens in a new window) has since been updated to include the same image, but we will have to wait until July 12 to "hear all about it." That's assuming no more leaks occur, of course.
Until now, we had scant details regarding what to expect from the handset. The translucent case is confirmed by this new photo, so hopefully Nothing also delivers on the promise of no bloatware. The Qualcomm chip expected to be at the heart of the Phone (1) is hopefully a swift one, because after all, this is meant to be "the most compelling alternative to Apple."
