Nothing has revealed the design of its first smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1), a week after announcing that the phone will launch on July 12. A few weeks ago, the company said that the Nothing phone (1) will incorporate some kind of transparency, but it wasn't immediately clear what that would entail. The revealed design now shows that the rear panel of the phone looks very different than what people have come to expect from traditional smartphones.
Nothing is a new consumer electronics brand launched in 2020 by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. The company currently has a single product on the market – a pair of TWS earbuds called the Nothing ear (1). However, Nothing was always expected to get into the smartphone market at some stage, and it's finally happening. The company confirmed that its first smartphone will launch on July 12 in select European markets and India. For now, there's no confirmation about whether the device will launch in the U.S.

Nothing has posted a new image of its first-ever smartphone on Instagram, providing a full look at its back panel. From what can be seen, the device will ship with a dual-camera setup at the back, possibly with an accompanying LED flash. However, while the back panel design does seem to have shades of translucency, it doesn't show off all the internal components like the Nothing ear (1). The biggest takeaway from the image, however, is what seems to be a large magnetic coil at the back, which would indicate that the phone will support wireless charging.
