The challenging survival game Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition has seen a price cut from $4.99 to $0.99. So, if it’s been on your wishlist but you were holding it off, this might be the right time to check it out. Developed and published by Klei, the game first dropped on Android in October 2016.
In Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition, the protagonist is Wilson, a scientist, who’s trapped in the Constant. Now, it’s a bleak and otherworldly place where survival is your daily grind. No matter what, keep Wilson alive and make sure he’s well-fed.
Wilson also needs to be mentally sound and ready to outsmart the eerie creatures that lurk around every corner, looking for a chance to take him down. You also get a special mode called the Adventure mode cranking up the stakes. It pits Wilson against Maxwell, the mastermind behind his tricky situation.
The main motive in Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition is to survive, which includes figuring out how to make fire and get food before darkness turns you into a late-night snack. As you play, there’s a constant, gnawing pressure that the end is just right around the corner. Although it’s a grim survival scenario, the game’s eerie cartoons add a humourous angle to it.
The Don’t Starve series has nine expansions out of which you get two on mobile, Pocket Edition and Shipwrecked. The latter includes more characters, biomes, creatures and seasonal effects. Pocket Edition gives off the cosy temperate climate vibes, while in Shipwrecked, you’re surviving in the tropics.
So, go ahead and grab Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition from the Google Play Store for less than a buck. By the way, Shipwrecked is also up for grabs at $2.99 instead of its usual price of $4.99. You can check that out, too.
