Those handful of Final Fantasy fans lucky enough to lodge a pre-order for the limited edition physical version of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on PS4 will be charged on 31st March in Europe and 5th April in North America – despite the bundle not having an official release date yet. Officially, the publisher’s still promising a Spring 2023 launch, and it’s safe to assume the collection must be close if it’s taking payments.
“We're not quite ready to reveal the launch date for the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series on console (currently listed tentatively for 31st May), but we can tell you it's fast approaching,” the publisher unorthodoxly admitted, as shared on ResetEra. “For our teams to process your order, we will need to start taking payment starting Wednesday, 5th April, 2023.”
This physical collector’s edition was announced and put on sale overnight late last year, and immediately sold out. Fortunately, the bundle – which features updated versions of Final Fantasy through to Final Fantasy VI – will also be available to download digitally on the PS Store, so you won’t miss out on the re-released classics entirely. Now we wait for the official release date…
