June is typically a massive month for the video game industry. For years this was the month that most of us tuned into E3 for the big media conferences. However, since then, there has been a transition for these big-name companies to hold their own unique stream events for players to watch. So while E3 is not much of a thing these days, we still had events from Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, and others to sit in on. But now it seems that June might show up without any highlights from Nintendo.
We have a few events coming into the spotlight next month. For instance, there were rumors that Sony might hold their PlayStation Showcase event at the very end of this month or the start of June. In addition, Xbox will have a showcase alongside a deep dive into Starfield in June. Likewise, there is the Summer Games Fest which would likely have plenty of exciting video game announcements. However, one industry insider, Andy Robinson from VGC, has taken to Twitter and claimed they are not expecting Nintendo to do anything for this coming month.

That would be a significant change for Nintendo as they are also known for delivering a massive Nintendo Direct in June. This would be a month where Nintendo can highlight what’s coming out into the marketplace soon from the company. But much like what Comic Book stated, this could be an indicator that the content being worked on now is not aimed at the Nintendo Switch. This hybrid console platform from Nintendo may soon be out the door, with Nintendo now aiming to deliver a successor console platform in its place.
