Nintendo's Doug Bowser Says The Switch Could Have A Few More Years Of Life Yet
Rumors continue to swirl suggesting the Nintendo Switch's successor will be announced soon, potentially this year. However, none of those rumors stem from anything announced by Nintendo. In fact, according to Nintendo of America's Doug Bowser, the Switch might still have a few more years left in it.
That's what Bowser recently told The Associated Press. The Nintendo boss was directly asked when the Switch's successor will be here, and what he hopes to see from it. “Nothing to announce on any future console or device, but we are still feeling very bullish about Nintendo Switch,” Bowser answered, adding that he felt the need to be careful regarding what he is willing to share about what he would like to see from whatever comes next.

“What I can share is that one of the reasons that even going into year seven we feel very confident that the Switch can have a strong performance over the next few years is that it is still truly that unique device.” Notable is Bowser seemingly saying he expects the Switch to continue pulling in strong numbers for Nintendo for a few more years, uncharted territory for the console creators.
In fact, as Bowser notes, Nintendo is already in uncharted territory when it comes to the Switch. Recently celebrating its sixth anniversary, Nintendo doesn't usually wait this long to replace a console. The industry standard for the company between its consoles has been five or six years. If the Switch really does stick around for a few more years, it will smash all previous records for Nintendo.
