A recent report by journalist Tom Henderson claimed that Sony was working on a PS5 Pro, and that the company was planning on launching the more powerful version of its current-gen console sometime in 2024. And while at the time details on what exactly the console would be bringing to the table were scant, that could be changing soon.
In a recent stream, Henderson claimed that more details on the PS5 Pro will should become available in the next couple of months- though it’s unlikely he’s referring to them becoming available via official channels. Either way, we might know more about the console in the not-too-distant future. Meanwhile, Henderson also states that Sony also has additional PlayStation hardware in the works beyond the PS5 Pro, though he did not elaborate on what that might be. Whether he’s referring to the previously rumoured PS5 model with a detachable disc drive remains to be seen.
That model, incidentally, is supposedly set to launch in September, if reports are to be believed. A PlayStation Showcase is allegedly being planned for early June, so perhaps we could hear something about it there.
