Data firm Newzoo has promoted Emma McDonald to be its new chief operating officer.
In a post on its website, CEO Michelle Rouhof revealed that McDonald would be joining the C-suite after a long-running career at the company. She joined Newzoo 11 years ago as a junior data analyst before rising to key account manager after just one year. Ten months later, she was promoted to content marketing manager where she remained for two years, ahead of becoming director of marketing in 2016.
"It is very encouraging and inspiring to see how she has developed into a senior leader driving value to the company in many ways," said Newzoo CEO Michelle Rouhof.
"She is now ready to lead our global teams and further establish the company's longevity within the games industry whilst remaining grounded in Newzoo values."
In a post on LinkedIn, McDonald added: "It's been almost 11 years since I started working at Newzoo as a Junior Data Analyst and I'm so grateful for all the opportunities and support I've been given since then, especially from Newzoo's Founders.
"I'm excited to start this next chapter and work with more of the talented people and teams across Newzoo."
