A new Star Wars action-adventure video game is in development at Skydance New Media, a studio formed in 2019 under the purview of writer and director Amy Hennig. The studio is a branch of the film production company Skydance Media, and has now landed its second major partnership after it announced a new Marvel game last October.
Now that Electronic Arts' exclusivity deal to develop games for the Star Wars franchise has expired, Lucasfilm Games has sought talent for a number of new projects, including a Knights of the Old Republic remake from Aspyr and an untitled Star Wars game out of Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment. Now Amy Hennig has been tapped to once again work on the Star Wars IP, this time with her new studio. After leaving Sony and Naughty Dog following her work as writer and creative director on the first three Uncharted titles, Hennig joined EA's Visceral Games to develop a now canceled Star Wars game. Departing EA, Hennig contributed as a writer to the Square Enix's recently delayed Forspoken before becoming the president of Skydance New Media.

There are still very few details on the new, untitled Star Wars project from Hennig, Skydance New Media, and Lucasfilm Games. The action-adventure title will have AAA scope, and most likely be narrative driven, given Hennig's portfolio. No character details were revealed for the action-adventure game, but it will be an original Star Wars story. Skydance New Media makes mention of "traditional gaming platforms as well as emerging streaming services," so it seems the game will be aiming to launch on a wide range of hardware.
