There are many monsters that players will encounter as they go through Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. One of the iconic monsters that players can spot while roaming around the open fields of Skyrim are the giants, and many members of the game's community likely have memorable first encounters with these foes back when they first started the game. Now, another player has learned more about these dangerous monsters, albeit the hard way, just as they began their adventures in the action RPG.
Despite the different types of enemies that players will have to fight in the video game, the player will likely agree that dragons still remain as Skyrim's main focal point. The opening scene of Skyrim immediately introduces players to the dangers of dragons, and clearly sets their role in the action RPG. However, the community still seems to find encounters with Skyrim giants both full of danger and humor, given how many victims these monsters have claimed since the game's release in 2011.

New to Skyrim, Redditor geesevillian shared a video of their first experience with a giant in the game. In the footage, the player's point-of-view shows them approaching the giant from behind then backing off when the monster spawns its weapon out of nowhere. Seemingly itching for a fight, geesevillian draws out their Skyrim weapon of choice, but is easily overpowered by one swing from the giant. According to the post's caption, the Redditor assumed the giant was friendly and approached it to see if they could talk to the monster.
