A new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer has come and gone, with many fans obsessing over the new Lechonk pig Pokemon, the co-op features, the new legendaries, and more. However, perhaps one key detail flew beneath many fans' radars as they looked for new reveals and major announcements.
When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were first revealed, many debated over which food Fuecoco was based on. While many saw an apple, others argued it was a pepper. The leafage and bulbous shape, as well as the face looking like an apple with a bite out of it, led the former to their beliefs. Otherwise, some general designs such as Fuecoco’s tail has led many to believe it was some form of ghost pepper.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: All New Pokemon
This is important for two reasons. First, it’s obvious from his name and design that his primary elements are fire (fuego) and crocodile (cocodrilo), yet any secondary traits could inform how Fuecoco involves. Many, on the assumption that it was a pepper, have believed Fuecoco would become a Fire/Ghost-type. However, if it was based on an apple, that would indicate less physical outside some association with food.
Now, it seems the great Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Fuecoco food debate has been settled. The latest trailer gave fans their first look at the new starters in-game by showing them off with their natural elements—Quaxly was in the pond and Sprigatito among some flowers. Fuecoco wasn’t shown with some fiery terrain, nor with a bunch of peppers, but was instead showcased right next to a fruit that looks like an apple or a peach. It could be an apple, but the red is not strong enough and the bottom is more cuvered. However, some apples are more shaped like this, but either way this would suggest
