As August approaches, Hulu is bringing the curtains up on its lineup of TV shows and movies coming to the platform in the upcoming month. Starting from the beginning of August, viewers can look forward to a wide array of titles scheduled to premiere throughout the month.
Archer, the long-running show following the adventures of self-proclaimed «world's greatest spy» Sterling Archer and his colleagues at the International Secret Intelligence Service, is coming to an end with Season 14, starting on August 31. Created by Adam Reed, the raunchy spy-turned-anthology cartoon has for a long time found a winning combination in mashing up espionage parodies, slapstick, endless running gags, and surprisingly deep character development.
Earlier in the month, August 8 marks the return of Only Murders in the Building for Season 3. The quirky dramedy, created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, premiered on follows three strangers (Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) who band together for an unlikely murder investigation that also intersects with their even stranger shared interest in true crime podcasts. The show's odd mix of comedy and crime fiction, along with the reliably solid and funny performances, somehow just works. In the next season, Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) will make guest appearances as Glenroy, a theater actor who meets a mysterious fate.
