As what are hopefully the worst of the summer temps are behind us, an always welcome break is chilling on the couch with the AC and some great streaming content. August is right around the corner, which means Hulu is bringing new shows and movies. Some of the content is available starting on August 1, while other shows and movies will be available a little later next month.
August 3 brings us Season 2 of Reservation Dogs, an Indigenous American teen comedy drama television series created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi for FX. The show is notable for exclusively featuring Indigenous writers and directors--along with an almost entirely Indigenous North American cast and production team. On top of that, it's a funny and also quirky show about four Native teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crime and also fighting it. Here's a new trailer for the season that FX recently dropped.
August 25 brings the debut of Welcome to Wrexham, a docuseries about Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney becoming the proud owners of a UK football team. They purchased the team last year, admitted they were unlikely owners, but were committed to helping the town's «historic yet struggling football club.» The Deadpool star and It's Always Sunny creator--both fans of the game, and team--liked the general fish-out-of-water arc to their buying the team, because «Rob and Ryan have no experience in football or working with each other.» The show should be interesting, because they've made it clear they have no influence over how it was edited or filmed.
Below is a list of all the content coming to Hulu in August.
