This has kept players on their toes for updates at any time, but also kept retention and support for the game. The game is set to recieve a new Warbond every month as well, so it would seem that available Helldiving equipment will continue to evolve alongside new enemies and mission types.
This new enemy type, the Shrieker, was added after two Major Orders were set. The first required Helldivers to activate stations dispensing Termicide (a chemical weapon) on three different planets. After that was successful, players were required to liberate a handful of planets to create a buffer zone between Super Earth territory and the insects. However, that order failed, and whether it was supposed to succeed or not, has led to the new Termnid unit. A popular theory is that the Termicide update meant to kill the insects actually led to them mutating.
Shriekers are medium-sized flying bugs that will spawn from a secondary objective, Shrieker Nests, similar to how Stalkers do. They are fragile but mobile insects that deal good damage. However, the most dangerous part of fighting them is when they die, because their corpses will continue toward Helldivers. This corpse is heavy enough to instantly kill on impact and is wider than it may appear when flying in the air. The best choice is to kill Shriekers at range, so the corpse will not land anywhere near the player, or be prepared to dive in whichever direction has the most space.
Try to avoid diving backwards as this will likely still allow the Shrieker's corpse to impact the player character's hit box.
