New Galadriel Actor On How TV Version Is Different To The LOTR Movies
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power actress Morfydd Clark says her Galadriel won't be the same character fans may be expecting from the film trilogy. Originally played by Cate Blanchett in The Lord of the Rings as well as its prequel, The Hobbit, Lady Galadriel is an elven queen who holds one of the Rings of Power. Galadriel becomes an ally to the Fellowship as they set out to destroy the One Ring, presenting each member with a gift that helps them on their journey.
A younger Galadriel will appear in The Rings of Power, set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. In this part of the timeline, Galadriel is the Commander of the Northern Armies, illustrated by one of the first images released from the show. In contrast to the ethereal beauty depicted in director Peter Jackson's films, this Galadriel dons a suit of armor, complete with battle scars and a sword on her back.

According to Clark, Galadriel's portrayal in The Rings of Power will be quite different from The Lord of the Rings. She recently spoke with Empire about her experience on set, saying the shoot felt "like being on a school trip." Clark said she got to do a lot of "swimming, riding, [and] climbing," hinting that Galadriel will have many more action sequences than previously seen. She said:
“I had to find that balance between someone who has got an element of the eternal but hasn’t yet seen it all. Don’t expect the same character that you meet later on.”
Considering that The Rings of Power is a prequel, it wouldn't make sense for the young Galadriel to exhibit the same level of maturity as she did in The Lord of the Rings. Like any character
