This Nintendo-published scuba diving game sees you exploring the fictional Manaurai Sea in search of treasure while cataloguing all of the aquatic life you come across. 17 years later, the series is finally returning with Luminous for the Nintendo Switch on May 2, featuring multiplayer that supports up to 30 people.
The first Endless Ocean launched to mixed reviews, garnering an average score of 72. Critics at the time noted its simplicity and dull gameplay loop, though it was praised for its soundtrack and realistic ocean exploration. The sequel faired better, with an average score of 76, as critics praised its more structured, relaxing format, as well as its more in-depth story.
