Moore Threads MTT S80 GPU receives driver optimizations to improve performance drastically in the latest title, Black Myth: Wukong.
Black Myth: Wukong, a game that is set in Chinese mythology has set multiple records just after its launch. The game sold over 10 million copies in just three days, which means a lot of players and a lot of different PC hardware. All three GPU vendors, NVIDIA, AMD, & Intel released their respective drivers for the game and now, Chinese GPU maker "Moore Threads" has also released drivers for its MTT S80 GPU.
The Moore Threads MTT S80 isn't the best graphics card to own for modern titles but since it exists in the market, some users want the best optimizations for Black Myth. Unfortunately, the game could not run well on the GPU even with the latest driver version 270.80, which resulted in just 10-20 fps. The company has now offered various optimizations for the new game to ensure better performance on the driver.
With the new optimizations showcased in an internal test driver, the crashes under DX11 have been solved and now the game can run better than ever. While it doesn't guarantee a buttery smooth gameplay, players can expect somewhere between 35-55 fps, which is 2-3 times higher than before. As shown in the benchmark flashback, through the internal test driver the game can now run consistently above 35 fps in most areas unlike previously, where it hardly touched 20+ fps.
Other notable additions in the latest drivers include support for OpenGL 4.1 and AV1 encoding. Other titles such as Pay Day 3 receive up to 150% performance uplifts, DOTA 2 sees a 20% boost while World of Warcraft & Overwatch sees a 15% boost in performance.
