Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the next big feature film coming out of the MCU, and to keep the hype rolling, new posters for the sequel focus on the trio of Strange variants.
As the title suggests, the film will follow Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange through the alternate realities of the multiverse. Naturally, Strange will come across several characters throughout his journey, with variants of fan-favorite MCU heroes likely making appearances in the film, including alternate versions of the Sorcerer himself.
Sam Raimi Says More Doctor Strange 2 Reshoots Are Still Possible
The new vibrant, psychedelic art, which was released by Redwolf, focuses on the three strange variants: the main Doctor Strange, the evil Strange Supreme, and the pony-tailed Defender Strange. Many fans already know who Strange Supreme is, as the evil version of the sorcerer was introduced in last year's animated anthology series What If...?, and was seen attempting to use magic in order to prevent his girlfriend Christine Palmer's death, which would eventually drive him mad. While beginning with good intentions, this variant then turned to the Dark Dimension in hopes of resurrecting her, which then lead to him absorbing many other interdimensional beasts. While there's no telling how much he will be featured in the film, it is very likely that Doctor Strange Supreme will set up lasting implications for the rest of the MCU.
As for Defender Strange, this version has not yet been introduced into the MCU. What is known from the comics, however, is this version, like his name implies, is the good version of Doctor Strange who eventually teams up with the Defenders, which consists of heroes like Valkyrie, Silver Surfer, Namor, and Hulk.
