At the MSI booth at CES, we were able to get close-ups of MSI's brand new EXPERT GPU lineup which is coming with NVIDIA's RTX SUPER series.
MSI has been working on some brand-new cooling solutions for NVIDIA's flagship GPUs. During Computex 2023, we got to see a massive quad-slot cooling solution that is still under wraps and would be utilized by a future high-end GPU but at CES, the company showcased its latest EXPERT designs which center around a minimalistic yet gorgeous cooling solution.
Starting with the design, the MSI EXPERT cooling solution makes use of aluminum die-cast construction throughout its shroud and backplate, getting rid of the plastics and giving a more premium taste. It comes with a champagne gold color scheme which is reminiscent of the MSI EVOKE series which was introduced on the Radeon RX 5000 GPUs a couple of years back.
The cooling solution makes use of vapor chamber technology which transfers heat to the heat sink assembly through large core pipes that make direct contact with the GPU and spread the heat along the full length of the heatsink using precision-machined heat pipes. To cool this off, MSI is leveraging its Zero Frozr cooling fans which work in a push-pull airflow configuration with one fan sitting on the front and one on the back, similar to how NVIDIA designed its Founders Edition GPUs.
The front of the shroud also houses several aluminum fins that receive air from the Frozr fan on the adjacent side. This allows the heatsink to be cooled down and the heat to be dissipated out of the card through the massive exhaust vents on the front. The graphics card is powered through a single 12V-2x6 power connector and one thing that you might notice is the lack of RGB which to be honest goes well
