Mr. Fantastic's casting in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may have accidentally revealed a secret that Marvel Studios was hoping to keep quiet. Reed Richards, better known as Mr. Fantastic, was portrayed by John Krasinski in Doctor Strange 2, who had long been fan-cast to play the smart and stretchy leader of the Fantastic Four. Krasinski is best known for his work on The Office, Jack Ryan, and A Quiet Place, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness marked his first appearance in a superhero movie.
For many, Krasinski is perfectly cast as Mr. Fantastic and should continue to play the hero in the MCU. However, his debut was not met with overwhelming reviews, with the cameo appearance of «the smartest man alive» in Doctor Strange 2 coming under fire because of some of his unintelligent decisions, most notably when he revealed Black Bolt's powers to Wanda, leading to his teammate's gruesome death. Still, Krasinksi is the perfect fit for the MCU's Mr. Fantastic, and his appearance in The Multiverse of Madness may have inadvertently revealed a casting secret.

Krasinski was the second choice to play Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The first choice for the role, Daniel Craig, rejected appearing as Mr. Fantastic due to health concerns because Doctor Strange 2 was shot during an uptick of COVID-19 cases.
