Day 2 of San Diego Comic-Con in Hall H was stacked with big panels, including Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Walking Dead. But for me, the panel I was looking forward to the most oddly enough was BRZRKR, Keanu Reeves' comic book. I've never read an issue of BRZRKR, but I was still excited for the panel simply because it was my chance to see Keanu in-person. Like many other movie fans, I love Keanu Reeves. Not just because he makes awesome films like The Matrix and John Wick — but also all the offscreen stuff. He's one of the most likable people in Hollywood, with so many heartwarming stories about him — like when he fielded questions from a kid at the airport.
Witnessing the Keanu experience live in Hall H didn't disappoint. The BRZRKR panel actually piqued my interest in the property overall. Listening to Keanu talk about telling BRZRKR stories in different mediums was cool. At one point, he said he didn't want to be the main puppet master behind the universe, dictating others on what to do. He's open to anyone stepping in with their own interpretation regardless of medium. That's why BRZRKR is getting a film adaptation, an anime, and a novel in addition to the ongoing comic series. I may not be a comic reader, but Keanu's vision for the franchise means there could be a BRZRKR story for everyone some day. And even though he was the biggest name on the panel, he made sure to credit his amazing collaborators for the great work they do.
