John Wick is back and deadlier than ever. Following a nearly three-year hiatus, Keanu Reeves returns to the big screen to play the titular assassin in the first look at John Wick 4, which was released by Lionsgate and shared on social media.
In addition to Reeves, John Wick: Chapter 4 will see the return of Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, Ian McShane as Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel, and Lance Reddick as Continental concierge Charon. The upcoming film will also welcome Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown.

Although plot details remain under wraps, the action sequel will likely occur after the events depicted in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum.In that film, Wick teams up with The Bowery King to get revenge on The High Table after being shot and left for dead by Winston to appease the group. Still, the newly-released first look only adds to the mystery surrounding Chapter 4. The image shows Wick solemnly sitting with a haunted look on his face amid a blur of candles in what appears to be a church or some holy setting.
While the new photo provides few clues as to what viewers can expect from the forthcoming film, director Chad Stahelski previously anticipated the premise of an emotional climax. «There's a good conclusion to an emotional thread that we've already had,» he told Collider in May. Stahleski also teased new forms of stunt work and weapons, including nunchaku.
