This latest entry in the Mortal Kombat series is very much a live-service game, and as such, the game has a rather baffling array of currencies, all of which serve a unique purpose and can be earned in different ways. Koins are probably the most common currency you will accumulate in the game, and are represented by a gold coin symbol. They’re exclusively used in the “Shrine” which is basically a gacha system where you can claim randomized prizes, including cosmetics and some unique rewards like concept art. Each randomized prize will cost you 1000 Koins.

How do you earn Koins?

You get Koins from pretty much everything you do in Mortal Kombat 1. Story mode, Invasion mode, Towers, online multiplayer, daily and weekly quests, you name it. Another thing not to overlook, is that completing all of MK1’s training challenges will net you quite a large number of Koins (over 40,000 of them).

Seasonal Kredits are earned in-game via various means and represented by a silver coin symbol. Your Kredits can be spent in the Seasonal Items section of the Mortal Kombat 1 store on a variety of limited-time cosmetics.
