To play dual personalities Marc Spector and Steven Grant for Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac enlisted his brother for help. Isaac has conquered Star Wars and Dune, and with the Disney+ series Moon Knight, he boards the MCU. He was first cast in the role of Marc Spector in late 2020, and he will officially make his onscreen debut next week. Moon Knight marks a new kind of Disney+ show for Marvel, in that it's a bit darker than previous efforts and centers on a brand new character who has yet to debut in the movies. It also stars May Calamawy and Ethan Hawke, who takes on the role of mysterious villain Arthur Harrow.
Marc is a unique Marvel hero. Not only did he get his powers from an Egyptian god, he also lives with dissociative identity disorder, meaning he has multiple personalities living inside him. It looks like when Moon Knight begins, one of Marc's alters will be in charge: Mild-mannered Steven Grant. Steven has been haunted by strange memories he can't recall, and his life is thrown for a loop when someone calls looking for Marc. In order to embody all of Marc's personalities, Isaac essentially had to play several different characters. That could make for some confusion on set, but as he said at a press conference for Moon Knight (via ET Online), he devised a clever solution: He hired his brother, Michael Benjamin Hernandez, to «come in and be the other me.» Isaac explained:
