Official merch for the Disney+ series Moon Knight teases its ties to Egyptian mythology in a major way. After a year filled with streaming shows centered around fan favorite characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch, Marvel is turning to a brand new area of its ever-expanding universe with Moon Knight. The series follows Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac), an unassuming museum gift shop employee haunted by blackouts and strange memories. As anyone familiar with the comics knows, Steven is actually just one of the many identities living within Marc Spector, a mercenary with dissociative identity disorder.
In addition to that, Marc soon becomes blessed with the powers of the Egyptian moon good Khonshu, thus paving the way for him to become the vigilante Moon Knight. The series, which also features Ethan Hawke as the villain, tracks Marc's origin story as he tries to piece together his life and his new abilities. Moon Knight is set to premiere on Disney+ in March, and it's expected to be the first of many MCU projects involving Isaac.

As with some other MCU properties, Moon Knight will delve into mythology a fair amount. However, it already looks like it is doing so on a far deeper level than previous examples. In new merchandise art shared online by Brandon SanGiovanni, Marc's Moon Knight costume gets some up close looks, as does some Egyptian iconography. For example, there are hieroglyphs circling his head in the first image. Check them out below.
