Annapurna Interactive has confirmed, after a short period of uncertainty in the aftermath of its announcement at the Xbox Showcase, that, yes, promising coming of age outing Mixtape will release on PS5 in 2025. The game, developed by The Artful Escape maker Beethoven & Dinosaur, is being pitched as a “mixtape of memories, set to the soundtrack of a generation”.
The blurb reveals: “En route to their final party together, a perfectly curated playlist draws [three friends] into dreamlike reenactments of their formative memories. Experience a variety of narrative vignettes exploring the pivotal moments that shaped them. It’s the greatest hits of teenage friendship, from the first kiss to the last dance. Players will immerse themselves in the teenage wasteland by playing through a mixtape of joyful gameplay, from skateboarding and flying to taking photos after hours at an abandoned theme park, hitting baseballs, and putting on a fireworks show from the backseat of a car.”
This sounds like one for Life Is Strange fans – and with Max Caulfield also scheduled to make a comeback, this has been a big weekend for teenage angst.

Digging the vibe of this. If the soundtrack is half as good as the original Life is Strange OST, we’re in.
This was one of my favourite games from the Xbox thing. And I really liked The Artful Escape, too so that's a bonus.
This looked interesting, glad it's coming to PS5
@Fartingale If another company wants to pay big bucks to advertise a game that is coming to another console at the same time as all the others then let them. Unless you pre-order the moment it is announced on another console and can't cancel said pre-order
