Almost a decade on from the release of the last game in the series, Metal Gear Solid is incredibly relevant again. A collection of the original games launched on all platforms in 2023, and if all goes to plan, a remake of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater will be here before the end of 2024. If you'd like to rep your MGS fandom beyond playing the games, you can now do so via Uniqlo's Metal Gear merch collection, reissued and back on sale, as promised.
Uniqlo revealed it would be pulling its Metal Gear t-shirts from its archive in 2023, promising they'd be available again in January 2024. It didn't quite hit that target, but better late than never. All six of the Metal Gear t-shirts in its collection are now back up on the Uniqlo site, and all of them are priced at $24.90 each. Pretty reasonable for video game merch in 2024, although it might get pretty pricey if you want to own all six.
The collection pulls from all four corners of the Metal Gear series. Not just Metal Gear Solid, but from the games that came before it too. The image in the box below pulls artwork from Metal Gear Rising, Snake's likeness printed on a black background. The links in the box below will also take you to other designs available now, including one that makes your back look like Snake's, and another that covers the entire t-shirt with the iconic character's face, inspired by the PSP's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Uniqlo celebrated the launch of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 by revealing it will be reprinting some of its retired Metal Gear designs. Including six t-shirts, this pick is black with the artwork from Metal Gear Rising printed on it.
Even though there's no firm end date when it comes to how long this merch will be available, that it disappeared before suggests it will again.
