Following the recent release of co-op mode for Medieval Dynasty, the sim has seen a surge in players. Developer Render Cube has revealed a new all-time peak of over 31,000 since the new mode launched.
Co-op came to PC first, with the addition of a new map, the Oxbow, which can be explored or played solo or in up to four player co-op. The update last week also added a few other features, including that new map, and the addition of a playable female character. When the game launched, our reviewer named lack of customization options and repetitive gameplay as issues, so this update does at least seem to alleviate some of those concerns.
In the new co-op mode, if you play with a group, responsibilities will be shared. This means you have to collaborate and prepare for challenges in survival game style. Not only will you have to work together to build, supply, and defend your community, everyone must play a role and contribute for success. You'll have to strategize and figure out the best ways to grow, father resources, create food stockpiles for longer-term survival, and to fend off threats, including from wild animals.
This update is set to come for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and to other PC platforms in the next couple of months– Q1-Q2 2024, but for now, it seems to have added a jolt of new life into Medieval Dynasty. Following this, they’re set to add armors, crests, and shields next year as well.
