Following her appearance in Quan Chi's gameplay trailer in December last year, it's been officially announced that Khameleon will be joining Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo Fighter next week, starting on January 16.
This was announced via the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account earlier today, albeit with a simple image of the fighter emerging from a green portal rather than any special gameplay trailer. It appears as though there is no early access period for Khameleon like there was with Quan Chi, and she'll be added to the kameo roster at the same time for everyone.
For longtime Mortal Kombat fans, it's been a while since they've been able to take Khameleon for a spin, having previously featured in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon back in 2006. While she's not part of the main roster just yet, it's nice to see her back in a mainline Mortal Kombat game after an almost 18-year absence.
Khameleon also has a cameo in the Mortal Kombat mobile game that released in 2015, but come on, we all know that doesn't count.
Khameleon coming to Mortal Kombat is great and all, but the question on the lips of many fans is when the next character from the previously announced Kombat Pack will be dropped. Quan Chi was only just released last month, meaning that we're probably still in for a little bit of a wait yet, but it does tee up the addition of a guest character such as Homelander or Peacemaker as the next addition. As for when they'll drop, nothing has been teased or announced as yet.
