The 2002 Spider-Man game loosely follows the plot of the classic film, which sees Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker transform into the titular wall-crawling hero and face off with Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin. However, the video game adaptation of the movie expands this story to include other rogues like Shocker, Scorpion, and Vulture. After robbing a jewelry store with Shocker, the high-flying Vulture escapes to a clocktower rigged with explosive traps and challenges players to reach the top. The encounter ends in a memorable mid-air brawl around the Chrysler Building, after which Vulture is defeated and left for the police.

While Insomniac made Doc Ock the primary villain in Marvel's Spider-Man, the open-world title also features other villains like Mr. Negative, Rhino, and Vulture.
