Marvel's Spider-Man (2018) brought the web-slinger to his most impressive video game heights in recent times, and alongside the stunning visuals and addictive gameplay came a seemingly endless list of Easter eggs, with some of the best alluding to Peter Parker's villains from the comics. Using the vast array of collectibles scattered around Insomniac Games' rendition of New York City, eagle-eyed fans of the comic book series can find subtle nods to both Spider-Man's allies and those who he sought to defeat. Through the use of landmarks, challenges, backpacks, and more, Insomniac Games has hinted at potential Spider-Man spinoff characters like Wolverine, creating a world that could spawn games to come in the future.
One of the most interesting (as well as Easter egg-filled) aspects of Marvel's Spider-Man is the backpacks found across New York. Collecting all 55 will reward the player with the Homemade Suit, modeled on the first design of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, originally appearing in Captain America: Civil War. Each backpack will feature an item from Peter Parker's past, and a handful of these include sly references or nodes to characters in the Spider-Man world. Some objects in Parker's backpacks are simple (for example, a broken pair of glasses), but others reference characters such as the Green Goblin, Sandman, Lizard, and Rhino.
