’ latest event, The Spring Festival, will be starting soon, bringing a brand-new free skin for Star-Lord. If you’re wondering why the event called The Spring Festival is happening so early in the year, that’s because the event is meant to tie in with the Lunar New Year, which is also called Spring Festival in China. Likely, wanted to avoid even more comparisons by calling it the Lunar New Year event the same way does.
The Spring Festival will include a new limited-time mode — basically Lucio Ball, which pits teams of three against one another. Star-Lord, Black Widow, and Iron Fist in are the only heroes available in the new mode and are also the ones getting new skins for the event. While not all three are free, Star-Lord’s new lion-themed costume is.
Star-Lord’s new skin has him sporting a lion-shaped mask and a flowing blonde mane to match. He also has a fur-lined jacket and fluffy adornments for his guns. If you want this unique look, you need only participate in the Spring Festival Event and complete a series of challenges.
NetEase has just launched a new trailer showcasing the Spring Festival coming to the title in just a few days, and the skins look great.
What exactly you will need to do hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will likely work similarly to ’ Winter Festival and the free Jeff skin. This involved completing missions that were specific to the Winter Festival limited-time event and collecting a unique in-game currency to spend on unlocking event-related items. If you want to unlock Star-Lord’s new skin, better be prepared to try out the new soccer-like mode and likely fulfill some specific related requests.
The Spring Festival event will begin on January 23, 2025, at 9:00 am UTC. This translates to 4:00 am ET or 1:00 am PT. The event's start coincides with this year’s Lunar New Year, which takes place on January 22, 2023. As of now, there is no listed end date for the event.
