Have you ever wanted to be a bird, dancing on a first date near an unattended plate of spaghetti? Then Lovebirb is the game for you.
Lovebirb, an indie dating sim from Anonymous Penguin Studios, has just been shown off at the Wholesome Direct, and definitely stands out from the crowd. Opening on a shot of our protagonist flicking through the bird version of Tinder, this is certainly set to be a dating sim like no other - and not just because it's also a rhythm game.

As you can see in the trailer below, Lovebirb is a dating sim that has a lot to offer players who usually steer away from the genre. With the dates taking place in rhythm-based minigames, it offers a fresh take on dating games. However, you will still have to choose your words carefully, like in similar, less bird-themed titles.
This isn't the first time Anonymous Penguin Studios has shown off Lovebirb. If you're dying to get another look at the game, check out this tweet from February, which shows off more of the gameplay and the kind of humour we can expect.
To coincide with its Wholesome Direct appearance, the devs have just dropped a demo: Lovebirb: Speed Dating Editon. Going by the demo's description, it seems that there will be a bunch romanceable birds to choose from in the final game. This demo lets us go on a first date with one of them, testing the waters of this unique dating sim.
There's no specific release date for Lovebirb just yet, but it's set to launch sometime towards the end of 2022. It will be available exclusively for PC, via itch.io.
