A possible Valkyrie and Captain Marvel romance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been addressed by Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson. Audiences have only seen Valkyrie a few times in the MCU up to this point, but Thompson quickly turned her into a fan-favorite character. Not only was she funny and incredibly skilled in combat, but Thor: Ragnarok originally confirmed Valkyrie was bisexual. Following her becoming King of New Asgard in Avengers: Endgame, it was said that part of Valkyrie's MCU future included «finding her queen.»
The tease that Valkyrie would soon begin a queer relationship in the MCU left many to theorize about who could become the other half of that romance. The cast list for Thor: Love and Thunder sparked plenty of speculation that Natalie Portman's return as Jane Foster could see her fall for Valkyrie, on top of transforming into Mighty Thor. Lady Sif actress Jaimie Alexander was also very vocal about her willingness to be part of this romance and become Valkyrie's MCU queen. However, the most popular suggestion has been a Valkyrie and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) romance.

With Thor: Love and Thunder now releasing in theaters, Thompson addressed the speculation about a possible romantic relationship between Valkyrie and Captain Marvel. She spoke to Pink Villa in the lead up to the movie's debut, and was asked if Larson's MCU superhero could be Valkyrie's queen. Thompson was quite coy in her response, as she mentions how Valkyrie has not had much time to focus on her romantic life.
