Developer Amplitude Studios has made a name for itself with its loosely connected Endless series, which consists of the 2012 sci-fi turn-based strategy title Endless Space, its 2017 follow-up Endless Space 2, the medieval/fantasy spin-off Endless Legend, and the roguelike tower defense installment Dungeon of the Endless.
After being bought out by SEGA in 2016 and gaining notable attention with last year’s Humankind, Amplitude is now returning to the Endless series with Endless Dungeon, which was announced for all major platforms in 2020. An official release date has yet to be announced, but Amplitude Studios is letting some experience the game early in the form of an open-dev beta on Steam that will allow the developer to gather feedback on Endless Dungeon’s team-based roguelike tactical gameplay.

Endless Dungeon’s plot takes players to a derelict space station that was built by an ancient civilization known as the Endless. This station draws unluckily ships into it with a mysterious force, leaving the survivors to try and band together to explore its secrets and discover a way out. These survivors each have their own motivations for traveling to the station in the first place, as some are searching for riches, others aim to study the forces within the base, and more still are simply trapped and looking for a way home.
In standard roguelike fashion, Endless Dungeon unfolds from an isometric top-down perspective, with players using the WASD keys to move and the mouse to aim and fire their weapons.
