The Lost Ark team revealed details about summer updates, including a number of changes to make progression easier and more fun and reduce grind and repetition. Now, the team has announced that sometime during the summer, the Europe West and Europe Central service regions will be merged.
Europe West will be folded into Europe Central, and this is being done at some point this summer as a response to player data and feedback on the subject of region merges to keep populations viable enough. Both Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG are Working on making this happen, so they don't have any details just yet but it lets players be aware if they are playing on Europe West servers that a merge is coming.
On the subject of region merges and server merges, both are possibilities but they don't have any current plans just yet. After the August updates, the teams will start to look for potential servers that could benefit from merges. It will be a while before we hear about any plans, so if your servers are a little bit sleepy, help may be on the way but it will take some time to arrive. As for the bigger subject of region merges, that is also not out of the question.
Even though they announced this region merge is on the way for Europe, they're still working out plans and policies as to how it will work. Region merges are obviously a big undertaking, so we will have to wait for full details on how it will all work for affected players. Once all of that is hammered out, if there are future moves to merge service regions, at least the framework will be in place.
