Logitech teamed up with Playseat to design a sim racing chair that's both lightweight and can be quickly folded and stored away.
Racing chairs take up far more space than your typical office or gaming chair because they typically copy the seating position of racing cars where the driver is almost lying down. Storing such chairs when not in use is therefore difficult, so Logitech decided to solve the problem for its Playseat Challenge X - Logitech G Edition.
The Challenge X is constructed using a lightweight, foldable carbon steel frame and uses Playseat's Actifit breathable materials for comfort during extended play periods. The chair can support weights of up to 359lbs (163Kg), and when not in use, folds up to be almost flat and only weighs 26lbs (11.6Kg).
The folding feature also allows the Challenge X to be fully-adjustable with six seating positions available. The positioning of the wheel and pedals can be fine-tuned, there's a gearshift mount, and the lightweight frame allows for force feedback and Trueforce to be transferred effectively to the player.
At $299, the Playseat Challenge X - Logitech G Edition certainly isn't cheap, but the ability to quickly fold and store it away will be very tempting, especially if you have a limited amount of space at home. Included in the box with the chair is a shifter mount, tilting pedal bracket, cable clips, 10 screws for mounting the wheel, pedals, and shiter, and an Allen key.
