Little Llane Wrynn in Patch 10.1.5 - Rescuing a Prince
A series of Eon's Fringe dailies in Patch 10.1.5 take us back through time, correcting anomalies in the timeways. In one, a Stormwind Guard recruits us to help rescue his prince — Llane Wrynn.
A Prince in PerilLlane Wrynn I was the King of Stormwind during the First War, and father to Varian Wrynn. A Stormwind Guard from his era has found their way into the Everywhere Inn with news that their prince has been captured.
I was fighting off a pack of vicious gnolls who were threatening my prince when there was a flash of light. Suddenly, l was in this strange place and the prince was gone! It must have been that dastardly Matriarch Bluepelt. Please. find Prince Wrynn and give those gnolls what for!Llane's father, Barathen Wrynn, ruled the Kingdom of Stormwind during the time of the Gnoll Wars, a conflict during which all Gnolls packs united under one Packlord that threatened to overrun the kingdom. By leading his people to victory, Barathen not only gave the people of Stormwind the confidence that would help make the Kingdom of Stormwind the dominant force that it is, he also broke the Gnoll's unity. While the creatures have remained a plague, they have never seriously threatened to fully overrun Stormwind again. However, if a Gnoll leader successfully managed to kidnap and hold onto Llane Wrynn, it could have easily broken the spirit of Stormwind and given the Gnolls the confidence to once again reunite, as well as a leader to unite under. A captured Llan Wrynn also may never have grown up to fight in the First War, or father Varian Wrynn. Thankfully, we save the timeline, correcting the anomaly and saving not only Stormwind's Prince, but potentially Stormwind itself.
