Final Fantasy 14 fans got a surprise when Xbox's Phil Spencer walked out on stage at Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival 2023. The MMORPG is finally coming to Microsoft's platform, launching on the Xbox after years of PlayStation console exclusivity.
It's been something players have wanted for years, and it's finally happening. The Xbox platform is coming to Eorzea, with full cross play between all versions. Phil Spencer took the stage to help make the announcement, praising the CBU3 team for their work on the MMORPG, specifically putting players first.
The team took a look at the Xbox version, with the MMORPG coming to Xbox Series S|X consoles, with faster loading times, 4K support on the Series X.
The Xbox version is slated for Spring of 2024, with the open beta scheduled during patch 6.5X, giving Xbox players a chance to jump in relatively soon. This also means that Dawntrail will be launching on Xbox next year when it hits in Summer of 2024.
