A new gameplay overview of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga shows off the title's massive cast of characters and numerous gameplay innovations. The action adventure games rebuild the sci-fi series in cartoonish LEGO style, creating a fun and accessible way to experience the epic story. While the title was delayed from its planned 2021 launch, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's release date was recently confirmed as April 5, 2022.
Each LEGO video game strives to build upon what came before it, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will serve as a dramatic evolution for the series. While 2007's The Complete Saga adapted the first six Star Wars films, The Skywalker Saga will go even further by recreating all nine major franchise installments. Each of these films will be retold using the LEGO series' signature humor, and characters from throughout the franchise will result in a roster of around 300 playable characters. The newest LEGO Star Wars game's setting is shaping up to be absolutely massive, with The Skywalker Saga's Galaxy Map of planets allowing players to explore 24 distinct locations across a galaxy far, far away.
