A new trailer for The Fallout teases writer-director Megan Park's directorial debut, set to stream on HBO Max starting January 27. Park, best known for her role on ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager as Grace Bowman, directed the film from her own screenplay. The Fallout stars Jenna Ortega and Maddie Ziegler, who recently starred in Scream (2022) and West Side Story (2021), respectively.
Now, Warner Bros. Pictures has released the new trailer for The Fallout. The trailer depicts an unexpected bond that forms between Vada (Ortega) and Mia (Ziegler) in the aftermath of a school shooting that occurs while both characters hide in a restroom. Although the characters aren't friends at The Fallout's onset, Vada seeks out Mia's company in the traumatic event's aftermath. The events that follow set both teenagers on a new path as Vada re-evaluates her relationships with her family, friends, and the world around her. Check out the trailer below:

In a press release, Warner Bros. described The Fallout as "a compelling exploration of the inexplicable resiliency of life and the hope that emerges out of loss." The moviewon the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for Narrative Feature at the 2021 South by Southwest Film Festival, and Park's screenplay won the festival's Brightcove Illumination Award. In addition to Ortega and Ziegler, the film also stars Niles Fitch and Will Ropp, with John Ortiz, Julie Bowen, and Shailene Woodley, who appears to portray Vada's therapist. Finneas O'Connell, who collaborated with his sister Billie Eilish on the No Time to Die theme, composed the film's original score. The Fallout's soundtrack also features an original song
