A new trailer for Kung Fu teases new enemies in season 2. Based on the classic 1972 series starring David Carradine, the new show developed by Christina M. Kim follows Harvard dropout Nicky Shen, who begins using her martial arts skills to protect her community in San Francisco. Olivia Liang leads the cast as Nicky, joined by Eddie Liu, Kheng Hua Tan, Gavin Stenhouse, Shannon Dang, Yvonne Chapman, and Vanessa Kai.
In a new trailer shared by The CW Network, a showdown appears to be in the cards for Nicky and her long-lost cousin, Mia (Vanessa Rao). Though it appears that Nicky might be a reluctant combatant in the looming confrontation, it seems she won’t have much choice in the matter as Mia comes out swinging. Described as “the key to everything” by kingpin Russell Tan (Kee Chan), it seems evident that Mia will have a huge part to play in the makeup of season 2. Check out the trailer below:

Season 1 of Kung Fu made its official debut in April of 2021, airing 13 episodes and garnering an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The show was renewed for a second season on May 2021, with principal production commencing in September of 2021. While Rao may mark the most significant new addition to the cast, she is reportedly joined by fellow newcomers JP Tadena as Harmony Dumplings' new chef Sebastian and Annie Q as Juliette Tan, the daughter of Russell.Kung Fu is scheduled to return to The CW on March 9, 2022.
