Marvel's Spider-Man is finally acknowledging his «brother» — and the company is simultaneously acknowledging the latter's ability to be a better superhero than Peter Parker. Amazing Spider-Man #90 showcases the team-up for which Spider-Man fans have waited for months: Peter Parker reuniting with Ben Reilly, his clone from the infamous Clone Saga storyline of the 90s. While fans adore Peter and his struggles, Ben is slowly building a following of his own.
The current Spider-Man storyline sidelined the superhero after he suffers from a deadly radiation-based attack, courtesy of the U-Foes. Peter has spent the past few issues in and out of a hospital bed in New York City; as such, Ben Reilly is the city's new webslinger. He's bankrolled by the Beyond Corporation, a nebulous company that ostensibly provides resources to vigilantes for the purposes of fighting crime. Unfortunately, Ben recently learned that Beyond bankrolls certain Spider-Man villains as well — and even creates a few of their own.

When the brutal and terrifying Queen Goblin terrorizes the city and threatens the Spider-Family — even using her powers to force Black Cat to step off a ledge to her almost-doom — Peter Parker returns to webslinging and gets a new suit, courtesy of Mary Jane. At the same time, the Queen Goblin battles Ben Reilly high above the New York skyline (forcing Ben to lure the Goblin away from the populated areas of the city, such as the Queensboro bridge). Peter suits up, realizing that neither himself nor Ben is at 100% fighting strength — but together, they'll make one whole Spider-Man.
