Legends of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz talks about the "miserable" working conditions early on in the series. Out of all the Arrowverse shows, Legends hashad perhaps the most interesting journey. When it premiered in 2016, the show faced harsh criticism for taking itself too seriously. Like a lot of series early on, Legends of Tomorrow struggled initially to find its tone. It was also hurt by trying to fit existing characters from Arrow and The Flash togetherin a way that felt organic. Luckily, this changed after a couple of seasons.
Soon, Legends of Tomorrow began bringing in more of its own characters who worked well with the team. The show also embraced a goofy, anything-goes approach that helped it develop its own identity instead of feeling like a mishmash of Arrow andThe Flash. Eventually, the series became not only a stand-out of the Arrowverse but arguably one of The CW's most confident and consistently entertaining shows. Unfortunately, the network opted to cancel Legends of Tomorrow after its recent season 7 finale, bringing the characters' journeys to an end.

On a new episode of Michael Rosenbaum's podcast Inside of You, which was recorded beforeLegends of Tomorrow was canceled, Lotz reflects on the show's early days. Though she goes on to say she's enjoyed the work in recent seasons, there were some issues in Legends' first two years:
It's interesting, like in the beginning, after like season 2 or something, it was so hard and like pretty miserable that I, like, wanted off. I didn't want to do it anymore.
