National Treasure: Edge of History star Breeda Wool explains what it was like to work with Catherine Zeta-Jones. The series, which is coming soon to Disney+, is a continuation of the National Treasure franchise, which followed Nicolas Cage as treasure hunter Ben Gates. The 2004 action-adventure film, which featured a cross-country treasure hunt involving a secret message on the Declaration of Independence, got a sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, in 2007 but remained dormant after that until May 2020, when the National Treasure follow-up series was announced.
Although the plotline of the series hasn't been announced, it will be a sequel series set in the same universe, as it features Justin Bartha reprising his role as Riley Poole. So far, the rest of the cast is new to the franchise. Aside from Wool (who is best known for her roles in Mr. Mercedes andUnREAL) and Zeta-Jones (an Oscar-winning actress for Chicago), the cast features Lisette Alexis (Total Eclipse), Lyndon Smith (Parenthood), Zuri Reed (Flatbush Misdemeanors), Jake Austin Walker (DC's Stargirl), Antonio Cipriano (Broadway's Jagged Little Pill), and Jordan Rodrigues (Light as a Feather).
