Released back in January, Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes players to the ancient Hisui region and tasks them with compiling the very first Pokédex. While the game shares the franchise's timeless objective of encountering wild monsters and collecting them all, a unique open-ended structure makes Pokémon Legends: Arceus a truly innovative entry in the series. Each wild Pokémon reacts to the player differently, with some fleeing in fear while others attack the player character directly, and stealth can allow for an easy capture. The game's key changes to the series' formula have been well-received, with Pokémon Legends: Arceus mods also improving the game over time.
