Whether a Gmail user has an iOS or Android device, the steps for picking a new Gmail inbox layout are the same. Launch the Gmail app and tap Menu (hamburger icon) at the top-left corner of the screen. Scroll down and select Settings. Pick the Gmail account to modify, scroll through the menu, and tap Inbox type. Choose one of the five available inbox layouts.
