It's unknown whether Ubisoft has plans to move forward with the title down the road, but as of right now it's looking like it might be taking a break from the series.
While Far Cry 7 would likely be the next major game in the franchise, it's important to remember the release pattern the series has stuck to for the past decade. The large numbered entries have always been followed up by smaller standalone spinoffs or continuations.
