Diablo IV’s Server Slam final beta weekend is now live, giving everyone the chance to jump in, see what has changed since open beta, and a final chance to earn some beta rewards.
Since the Early Access and open beta weekends in March, the team announced a list of balance changes and other fixes, adjustments, and tweaks they have made in response to the data they saw and community feedback. If you took part in the last beta weekend(s), things are potentially going to feel a little different this time around.
Changes they made are extensive, including several balance changes to all classes, with the Sorcerer in particular getting rebalanced (and somewhat nerfed). Blizzard made some adjustments to encounters, including the Butcher, where they evaluated several bosses for difficulty.
There are also changes to dungeon layouts, to make them feel more intuitive and to make optimizations to minimize the need to feel like you're constantly backtracking. This was a player experience changed to improve participating in dungeons. “Many of our Structure Objectives have been repositioned along main dungeon pathways, making them easier for players to reach and allowing them to readily explore the dungeon”, they announced in the original blog on the changes made.
This Server Slam event will run through Monday morning, May 14th at 10 AM PDT, so you can jump in anytime between now and then to get your slaying on. It's also an opportunity to test out some of the classes, customization, and get a feel for What to Expect When the Game launches in the beginning of June because all of the changes they made will be what the final launch build looks like.
