On June 8, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords(Opens in a new window) was released for the Nintendo Switch, but it turns out completing the game is currently impossible.
As Kotaku reports(Opens in a new window), the problem was highlighted by Twitter user Daniel Moore. Developer Aspyr tweeted(Opens in a new window) about the release of the game on June 8, but Moore responded(Opens in a new window) with a tweet yesterday asking, "Are you guys aware there is no way to complete this game?"
It turns out the game will crash when playing the Basilisk Crash cutscene, which occurs about halfway through the game. Moore knows as he reached that point in the game and experienced the crash for himself. Aspyr responded(Opens in a new window) saying they are aware of a "known issue" that will be fixed in the next patch.
That wasn't good enough for Moore, who tweeted again(Opens in a new window) asking, "Just to be clear you're aware that there is no way to complete this game currently?" This time Aspyr responded more clearly(Opens in a new window), stating they are aware the game can't currently be completed and that "our dev team is working on delivering the patch as soon as possible."
So if you own the game or were planning to buy it, keep in mind you'll need to wait for this patch from Aspyr before it's possible to progress beyond the Basilisk Crash. Chances are, a lot of people picking this game up on the Switch have played it before so won't mind waiting a little longer. Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was first released back in 2004 for Xbox and has since been ported to Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, and now the Switch in download form for $14.99.
